Children Waiting for FamiliesThere is little I have enjoyed more over the last five years than advocating for the kids at Eagles Wings to find families, rejoicing when they are matched and thoughtfully preparing them to transition into their forever families. What a joy and a blessing it has been to watch more than thirty children meet their families and know that nearly another dozen are moving quietly in that direction, even though the kids themselves don't even know it yet.
I will no longer be advocating for Eagles Wings children, and New Day has a different policy due to the many different orphanages they work with. I understand and respect that (and will restrain myself). However, from time to time I hope to have the opportunity, really the privilege, of advocating for specific children who come to my attention and who I feel I can help in some way. This won't be the focus of Forty Days, but I see it as one of several ways that Forty Days will continue to bring to light the needs of orphans and at risk children. |

Sharon, dob 4/18/2005
Sharon was abandoned on the day she was born and has been in state care ever since. She has had an adoption file for more than five years, and still she waits.
She is a healthy child, developing well, attending a village school and living with a foster family. For all intents and purposes she is a normal girl.
Her special need is malformed cervical vertebrae, Chiari formation and scoliosis. She has some restricted range of motion in her neck. This need is a very manageable need; Sharon is a wonderful child who needs someone to "see" her and bring her home.
Sharon is on the shared list, and her file can be accessed by any adoption agency approved to place special needs children from China. Have your agency contact Donna at [email protected] for identifying information.
