Day 3 - XuZhou Home of Hope Tiling Project
The XuZhou Home of Hope is located in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. Bob and Cindy Sayre are house parents to thirty children who are not able to live in their birthfamilies and are also not available for adoption...kids in limbo. Kids in limbo need a family, too, and that's exactly what Bob and Cindy are for them. I never cease to be amazed when I see Bob and Cindy and all thirty kids around the table for meals, celebrating holidays, doing homework and all the other things that make up family life.
Keeping any house clean takes a lot of effort, and in China it can be a real challenge! Walls get so dirty so quickly; it is really hard to keep things clean even with frequent repainting, and thirty sets of fingerprints probably don't help either! A few months ago Bob and Cindy came up with the idea to tile the walls in the dining room to see if it would help...and it did! It is wonderful to be able to wipe the tile down quickly and have sparkling walls all the time. Now they would like to be able to tile the hallways and five bedrooms. It seems like a small thing, but small things make a difference in providing a happy, healthy and clean home for the boys and girls who call XuZhou Home of Hope their home. Help them out with a gift of $10, $25 or $50 today.
